Tomato Dal


Tomato - 2 number
Toor Dal - 1/2 cup
Tamarind Pulp - 1 tsp
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
Red Chilli Powder - to taste
salt - to taste
Crushed Garlic Pods - 2
Curry Leaves
Red Chilli whole- 2 number
Urad dal - 1/4 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp


Take 1/2 cup of toor dal, dry roast till you get nice aroma and colour. Let it cool down to room temperature.

Wash the dal twice and add cubed tomato, tamarind pulp, green chilli, and turmeric, 1.5 cups water and put it in a pressure cooker and cook for 3 whistles.

Take out the cooked dal from cooker,mi well,put it on stove on medium flame and cook till you get the right consistency.

On the other stove put a vessel, add 2 tbsp Oil, when it is hot add red chilli, urad dal, and mustard seeds, hing. When mustard seeds crackle add curry leaves, and garlic.

Put this tampering into Dal, adjust salt, and red chilli powder according to your taste, mix well and cook for another 2 to 3 min and serve.
